Berakas: 'Innovating for Digital Brunei', the theme of this year's Brunei ICT Awards (BICTA), marks Brunei Darussalam's ongoing journey towards digital transformation while encouraging innovation with societal and economic impacts. The Launching Ceremony of the Brunei ICT Awards, BICTA 2026, was held at the International Convention Centre, Berakas, on the morning of March 19th.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the event was officiated by Yang Berhormat Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha, Minister of Transport and Infocommunications. This year, BICTA is introducing the Royal Patron Award, which will be the highest and most prestigious accolade, awarded to the best overall project across all competition categories.
