Bandar seri begawan: Bilateral relations between Brunei Darussalam and Ireland, particularly in the fields of education and economy, were the focus of a farewell courtesy call received by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Dato Setia Haji Mohamed Taib, Speaker of the Legislative Council, from the Non-Resident Ambassador of Ireland to Brunei Darussalam.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the farewell courtesy call with Her Excellency Sarah McGrath was held at the Dewan Majlis Building. During the meeting, Her Excellency expressed her desire to maintain close cooperation through collaboration between the Legislative Council and the Parliament of Ireland. Discussions also included the development of regional and international cooperation, such as joint participation in meetings and conferences of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).
In addition to the discussions with the Irish Ambassador, the Speaker of the Legislative Council received a farewell courtesy call from Her Excellency Marian Jocelyn R. Tirol-Ignacio, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of the Philippines to Brunei Darussalam. The discussions focused on reviewing the close cooperation between the two countries and plans to enhance dialogue and sharing of best practices between the Legislative Council and the Congress of the Philippines. Both parties expressed their commitment to continue strengthening bilateral relations. Also present during the courtesy calls was Datin Paduka Doctor Dayang Hajah Huraini binti Pehin Orang Kaya Setia Jaya Dato Paduka Awang Haji Hurairah, Clerk to the Privy Council, Secretary to the Cabinet Ministers Council, and Clerk to the Legislative Council.
