Brunei Teams Compete in Karate at 33rd SEA Games in Thailand

Bangkok: His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, the SEA Games Federation Honorary Life President and President of the Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Council, attended the Karate event of the 33rd SEA Games held in Thailand on December 11, 2025. The event took place at the Chaeng Watthana Government Complex, showcasing the participation of Brunei Darussalam's athletes in both the Men's and Women's Team Kata categories.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the Men's Team Kata, represented by Farhin 'Idlan Mohamad Shamrin, Muhd Harith Dahlan, and Awangku Ahmad Munib Aiman Pengiran Haji Md Hasimudin, competed for the bronze medal but were defeated by the athletes from Viet Nam. The host nation, Thailand, claimed the gold medal, followed by Malaysia with the silver, while Viet Nam and the Philippines shared the bronze.

In the Women's Team Kata, Brunei's team comprising Farhah Syahirah Mohd Shamrin, Rodhyatul Adhwanna Bakar, and Farhana Najeeha Abdul Rahman finished in fourth place. Viet Nam took home the gold medal, with Thailand securing the silver. Malaysia and Indonesia both earned a bronze medal in this category.
