Brunei Young Leaders Convention 2019

Youth's involvement as a catalyst in the process of the nation's transformation is vital. Changes, migration and transformation are a must in efforts towards achieving a developed and dynamic nation. Speaking during the launch of Brunei Young Leaders Convention 2019 yesterday morning, the Minister at the Prime Minister's Office said the country's youths need to have a vision to become an excellent youth that guarantees the nation's prosperity and progress in the future. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohammad Daud also said the country also need the youths involvement to be willing and hardworking towards achieving the Wawasan Brunei 2035.

Yang Berhormat Awang Iswandy bin Ahmad, Member of the Legislative Council, as Chairman of BYLC 2019 in his speech said the convention was conducted by youth leaders and supported by various community levels.

The event ran concurrently with the presentation of certificates of appreciation to mentors and sponsors. More than 200 youths aged between 18 to 40 from various backgrounds took part in the 3-day convention. The convention is aimed to support the Wawasan Brunei 2 RIBU 35.

The opening remarks on Wawasan Brunei 2 RIBU 35 was delivered by Doctor Hajah Huraini binti Pehin Orang Kaya Setia Jaya Dato Paduka Haji Hurairah, Acting Director for the Wawasan Brunei 2 RIBU 35 Standing Secretariat. Also present were Yang Berhormat Dayang Khairunnisa binti Awang Haji Ash'ari, Member of the Legislative Council; Awang Haji Mohamad Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim, Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister's Officer and Pengiran Hajah Siti Nirmala binti Pengiran Haji Mohammad, Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office.
