A research project on various aspects of the well-being of Bruneians has been formalised with the signing of Collaboration Agreement between Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sdn Bhd (BSP) and Universiti Brunei Darussalam, UBD. A one-year research project will be carried out by the Centre for Advanced Research (CARe) at UBD and commissioned by BSP. The signing ceremony was held at the University Campus yesterday.
Signing on behalf of BSP was Dr Ceri M. Powell, Managing Director of BSP, and on behalf of UBD was Datin Dr. Dayang Hajah Anita Binurul Zahrina binti Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Wijaya Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Aziz, Vice Chancellor of UBD. The project is in response to His Majesty's Titah during the University Brunei Darussalam's 30th Convocation Ceremony in August 2018 on the importance of close relations between higher learning institutions and the industrial sector in the country, particularly to research and knowledge sharing. The findings from the research is expected to contribute to Wawasan Brunei 2035, with the aim to turn Brunei Darussalam into a nation widely recogniszed for quality of life that is among the top 10 nations in the world.
