Built With Provision from the Brunei Darussalam Mosque Construction Fund

Built on a zero point five hectare site, the Ar-Rahman Mosque in Kampung Tanjung Bunut costs three million, five hundred and sixty thousand dollars. The land is an endowment and the house of worship is the first one built with a budget allocated by the Brunei Darussalam Mosque Construction Fund. The construction began in September last year and the mosque is intended to provide both convenience and comfort to the congregants especially those living in the village and the nearby surrounding areas.

With a capacity to accommodate more the one thousand and two hundred people, the mosque is equipped with separate main prayer halls for men and women, a lecture room and an administrative office.

The villagers were very thankful that the new mosque was officiated on the first Friday of the new year of 1440 Hijrah. Apart from providing convenience to the congregants in performing prayers and other religious acts, it will also be used by mosque youth groups for beneficial activities.

Up to June this year, the Brunei Darussalam Mosque Construction Fund has collected more than eight million and seven hundred thousand dollars. The mosque is vital in the development of the community or society and helps greatly in elevating and spreading the eminence of Islam. It is hoped the new mosque will attract more people to enliven the House of Allah as a platform for uniting the Ummah and generating their economy.
