The business delegation of the Lao People's Democratic Republic held a Business Networking session with the Brunei Darussalam delegation this afternoon. It took place at the Empire Hotel and Country Club in Jerudong.
Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doktor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister At The Prime Minister's Office And Second Minister Of Finance And Economy in his address highlighted the expansion of bilateral relations across including trade and economic cooperation. Yang Berhormat also encouraged the two parties, especially businessmen and entrepreneurs to use the networking opportunity to enhance the cooperation.
Her Excellency, Khemmani Pholsena, Minister of Industry and Commerce in her return speech said more the 30 business and industry representative are offering opportunities for cooperation in various trade and investment prospects.
Both sides also gave a briefing on investment opportunity in their countries.
During the networking session, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Brunei Darussalam and the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The MOU will establish a general cooperation framework between the two chambers to develop business relations and strengthen overall trade, investment and economic cooperation between both countries. The Memorandum was signed by Oudet Souvannavong, President of the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Awang Haji Mohamad Hanafi bin Pehin Orang Kaya DiGadong Seri Diraja Dato Laila Utama Haji Abdul Rahman, President of the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Brunei Darussalam. The signing was witnessed by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mat Suny bin Haji Mohd Hussein, the Minister of Energy (Energy and Manpower) And Industry.
