Child Care Centres Are Allowed To Be Operated At Capacity Of 80%

The Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports also informed that the Child Care Centres nationwide have been allowed to re-operate in stages at a rate that meets the advice and Early Endemic Phase’s Standard Operating Procedures, SOPs in the COVID-19 Recovery Framework.

Based on the COVID-19 Steering Committee’s advice, the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports informed on the admission requirements transition according to age and capacity for Child Care Centres in which, children aged 1 and above are allowed at a capacity rate of 80 per cent. This will commence on Thursday, the 10th of February 2022. However, this permission is based on the preparations made by the respective centres together with the Department of Community Development, JAPEM.

As per the existing guidelines, children, parents and staff including aid worker are still required to undergo ART every once a week. However, they are allowed to carry out the test at home starting Thursday, the 10th of February 2022 in line with the Statement made by Yang Berhormat the Minister of Education on Saturday, 5th of February 2022 for kindergarten school students. The process and procedures for the implementation and reporting of ART self-test will be informed to parents and children by the respective Child Care Centres.
