Civil Servants drive the Socio-Economic Development

​In conjunction with the 29th Civil Service Day which falls on the 29th of September 2022, last night’s news brings a report on the role of civil servants in together driving the country’s development. As the government’s engine, civil servants need to find ways towards further improving services for the citizens and country. Hence, the competence and efficiency of administration and leadership of civil servants are important, towards achieving services of high quality.

According to the Public Service Department’s statistic until 31st August 2022, there are more than 45,400 civil servants. As the heart and main engine in steering the nation’s socio-economic development, public servants need to enculture innovative, responsive, positive and integrity-oriented work.

Aside from being managers and facilitators, civil servants are also agents of transformation that are the main core for the country’s progress. Possessing high discipline and determination in playing the role of a civil servant are among the noble values that contribute to the increase in productivity and the country’s revenue and constantly moving forward based on the concept of Malay Islamic Monarchy, MIB.

Honesty and trustworthiness are among the noble values that need to be instilled in every civil servant.

In efforts to further increase the service quality, every civil servant needs to always practise a high work ethic and integrity in supporting the Government’s efforts to make the country as ‘Baldatun Tayyibatun Wa Rabbun Ghafur or prosperous and content under the care of Allah.
