The Brunei Darussalam Maritime Museum’s surrounding is expected to be more beautiful and attractive after 1 hundred and 77 fruit and flowering trees were planted around the museum. A cleaning campaign and fruit tree planting was conducted by the Museums Department yesterday afternoon.
The event started with a visit by the Yang Berhormat Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports to the Observation Corner and Archaeological Heritage Gallery at the Maritime Museum.
Pengiran Hajah Mahani binti Pengiran Haji Ahmad, Acting Director of Museums explained in her speech that apart from beautifying the surrounding area, the event was also to increase the capacity development of Museums Department so that something that is outside the field can be studied as well as to practice teamwork.
Also present were Hajah Nor Ashikin binti Haji Johari, Permanent Secretary of Community and Culture and Dr. Siti Norkhalbi binti Haji Wahsalfelah, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Culture, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
