Closing Ceremony and Badges Presentation

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam attended the Closing Ceremony and the Badges Presentation of the Basic Airborne Course and Military Freefall Course by the Special Operations Training Support Centre of Singapore Armed Forces and Special Operations Regiment of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, RBAF. Also in attendance was His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office. The two basic courses were attended by His Royal Highness Captain Udara Prince 'Abdul Mateen ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah and eight personnel from the RBAF as well as four from the Singapore Armed Forces. The function took at the Special Operations Regiment Camp, Penanjong Garrison in the Tutong District.

Upon arrival at the Special Operations Regiment Camp, Penanjong Garrison, His Majesty was welcomed by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohammad Yusof, Second Minister of Defence; Major General Pengiran Dato Paduka Seri Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, Commander of RBAF, and His Excellency Lim Hong Huai, High Commissioner of Singapore to the country. Shortly after arriving, His Majesty received the Royal Solute.

His Majesty then inspected the Royal Guard of Honour led by Major Mohammad Ariff bin Awang Razali.

His Majesty and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince then witnessed the final freefall jump of the course participants. His Royal Highness Captain Udara Prince 'Abdul Mateen participated in the freefall jump.

His Majesty then presented the Basic Airborne Course and Military Freefall Course badges to His Royal Highness Captain Udara Prince 'Abdul Mateen and other 8 course participants. His Royal Highness Captain Udara Prince 'Abdul Mateen and other course participants completed the Basic Airborne Course and Military Freefall Course which began on last 9th of September and ended yesterday at the Penanjong Garrison, Tutong. His Majesty also presented the Freefall badges to the course participants including four from the Singapore Armed Forces.

His Majesty then watched a video clip presentation that showed the training undergone by His Royal Highness at the Special Operations Regiment. The training include weaponry exercise, jungle warfare and skill course.

His Majesty proceeded to view the static display of the parachuting capabilities of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces.

His Majesty, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and His Royal Highness Captain Udara Prince 'Abdul Mateen then proceeded to the Dining Hall for Luncheon.

Doa selamat was then read by Commander Haji Ainolnizam bin Haji Ibrahim, RBAF Head of Religious Department.
