The 'Tourist Guide Basic Course' and 'Tourist Guide Bridging Course' attended by 13 tourist guides concluded with a certificate presentation ceremony yesterday afternoon. The ceremony was held at the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism.
Certificates were presented by Awang Wardi bin Haji Mohammad Ali, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Tourism at the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism. The courses were conducted by the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism through collaborations with the Tourism Development Department and Laksamana College of Business. The course is also a pre-requisite for the application of Tourist Guide Licenses as outlined in the Tourism Order 2016, which assists the Tourism Development Department in terms of the control, monitoring and enforcement of the service. The Tourist Guide Basic Course, which was held over 21 days, was conducted as a way to acquire license as tourist guides before they are able to offer the service in the country. Meanwhile, the 5-day Tourist Guide Bridging Course was intended for skilled guides who already possess extensive experience as tourist guides.
