His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al- Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, in a titah acknowledges the achievements of the United Arab Emirates, UAE on its economic transformation, as well as congratulates the UAE on its success in organising the Expo 2020 Dubai.
His Majesty made the titah at The World Government Summit 2022 at the invitation of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi which took place at the Dubai Exhibition Centre.
Accompanying His Majesty was His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen.
In the titah, His Majesty outlines the challenges such as political, economic and socio issues that have risen in recent years. This includes the impact of the unprecedented and disruptive nature of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, peoples and governments have had to quickly adapt and be responsive to such challenges.
Touching on the importance on shaping future governments, His Majesty underlines that the Fourth Industrial Revolution will lead to changes in the shape and role of governments, economies and infrastructure. In this regard, the UAE is leading the way on the future of governments through pioneering efforts in a number of areas such as renewable energy and emphasises on the role of the youth as the leaders of tomorrow, who will inherit and implement the nascent policies developed today.
