Commonwealth Finance Ministers’ Meeting

Efforts in strengthening fiscal sustainability is an important objective especially when global recovery is still fragile. Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abd Rahman, Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy for Fiscal shared the matter when leading the delegation of Brunei Darussalam to the virtual Commonwealth Finance Ministers’ Meeting, CFMM.

In his speech, Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Ahmaddin also shared the role of technology is important in building long term resilience. The Meeting was chaired by The Honorable Gaston Browne, Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Corporate Governance and Public-Private Partnerships, Antigua and Barbuda. The main discussions of the meeting amongst others included debt sustainability and economic recovery. Also joining the meeting was Dayang Hajah Norliah binti Haji Kula, Permanent Secretary for Policy and Fiscal at the Ministry of Finance and Economy. Bangladesh will be assuming the role of the CFMM Chair 2022.
