People need to know how to create a healthy environment in their married life so as not to fall into criminal cases. From an Islamic point of view, men play an important role in looking after and protecting women. The matter was discussed during the PREPanita Forum entitled “Communi-Kasih: Communication is the Key to Happiness”. The forum was held at the IBTE Jefri Bolkiah Campus, Belait.
Over 100 students participated in the forum organized by the Department of Community Development, JAPEM in collaboration with government agencies and non-government associations. The forum was discussed by several panels comprising from the Family Counselling Officers; Crime Investigation Unit on Abuse of Women and Children; Medical Welfare Officer and Founder and Executive Director of Project Women and Girls Development Enterprise. Programmes are held to create as well as increase awareness on the importance of women’s rights and to prepare women and men to face unexpected problems or misfortunes.
