Rover Scouts from Brunei Darussalam, ASEAN and the Asia Pacific Region were divided into five groups, yesterday morning, to meet five Village Consultative Councils in Temburong District for visits and community work.
During the interaction with Kampung Batu Apoi Consultative Council, the Rover Scouts planted flower trees around a sago processing building. They also had the opportunity to witness the processing of ambulong or sago powder which is a well-known product under the One Village, One Product project. The group then carried out community work at Kampung Puni Community Hall by planting flower trees around the hall. They also saw the making of kelupis and wajid, two different types of local rice cakes. Joining the visit was Skipper Haji Metusin bin Orang kaya Sura Haji Tuba, President of Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association and Skipper Haji Ishak bin Mohd Jonid, Malaysia's Deputy Chief Commissioner of Scouts.
In the afternoon, the Rover Scouts participated in Jungle Trekking activity and coconut tree planting at Temburong District Scouts Association Headquarters in Kampung Lekiun. At the Bangar Town Bumiputera Complex, the participants received souvenirs from the President of Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association. Several participants also shared their experience during the scouts gathering.
