The Royal Customs and Excise Department through the Law Enforcement Division recently conducted two operations at separate locations, detaining two suspects and seizing various contraband.
The first operation was conducted at Kampung Batong, where 2 local men aged 30 and 15 were apprehended for possessing contraband namely 291 cartons 9 sticks of cigarettes; 71 unit vape pods; and 24 bottles and 96 cans of alcoholic drinks. The authorities also found cash amounting $2,328, believed to be proceeds from the contraband sales.
The second operation was conducted together with the Halal Food Control Division at Kampung Serasa National Housing Scheme, where one thousand cartons of cigarettes of various brands were discovered. All contraband and the individuals were brought to the Royal Customs and Excise Department’s Law Enforcement Division office for further investigation.
