2,500 clothes have been contributed to single mothers, underprivileged families and individuals in need in Kampung Bukit, Mukim Ukong, Tutong, as well as the needy from nearby areas. The contributions were made through the Mukim-to-Mukim Contribute and Assist Expedition Programme, yesterday.
Awang Shamsul Bahrin bin Haji Mohammad Hussain, The Tutong District Officer who is also the Chairman of the Tutong Volunteers Association, SUKA, in his speech said that such contributions showed the community's care towards the needs of the underprivileged.
At this ceremony, the Tutong District Officer handed over the contributions to the recipients. Also present was Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Umarali bin Esong, a Member of the Legislative Council. Since the Programme was introduced, SUKA has received more than 12 thousand clothes from the public. Also held during the ceremony was an exhibition of goods produced under the one-kampung-one product project, put up by the Mukim and Kampung Consultative Councils.
