Conversion Ceremony Marks Growth of Islamic Syiar in Temburong District

Bandar seri begawan: The Islamic Syiar in the country continues to grow with the increase in the number of new converts who have chosen Islam as their new belief. A conversion ceremony for an Iban woman took place in Kampung Amo ‘A’, Temburong District, on the night of September 27th.

According to Radio Television Brunei, Debu anak Jenau, aged 82, is now known as Dayang Sumayah binti Abdullah Jenau. The event was attended by various dignitaries, including Awang Haji Abdul Rajid bin Haji Mohd Salleh, Director of the Islamic Da’wah Centre. Since January this year, 20 people have embraced Islam in Temburong District.

The ceremony is part of a broader trend in the district and the country, where more individuals are converting to Islam, reflecting the growing influence and reach of the Islamic Syiar. The presence of the Director of the Islamic Da’wah Centre underscores the importance of these events in promoting religious understanding and support for new converts.
