The culture of installing ‘cucul’ or colourful lights in every residence during the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration is still practised, especially in Temburong District. Last night, the Kampung Rataie Mosque Takmir Committee organised a prize presentation ceremony for the cucul competition.
Eleven houses participated in the competition and six selected houses won the competition. The cucul installed enlivened the Aidilfitri, in addition to beautifying the atmosphere at night. The prizes were presented by Awang Eldi bin Haji Suhaili, Mosque Affairs Officer. The ceremony took place at the Kampung Rataie National Housing Scheme Mosque.
