Current Development of Head of Mukim and Village Chief Services Scheme

One Hundred and Sixty Nine Heads of Mukim and Village Chiefs will extend their services for 18 months commencing from the appointment date on 23rd December 2017, which is extended to 6 months from the early extension of one year. The matter is among the recent Head of Mukim and Village Chief Services Scheme development which has consented by His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Dipertuan of Brunei Darussalam on the 28th of August has consented on the following matters. First, a service period of 169 Head of Mukim and Village Chief are extended to 18 months, which is One and a half year of services starting from the appointment date on 23rd December 2017, which is 6 months extension.

Second, the Head of Mukim and Village Chief’s Positioning and Discipline Board to immediately re-examine the procedure to speed up the process to enable the position of head of mukim and village Chief to be filled up at the set period.

And third, the age requirement for candidate is lowered from 45 until 55 years to 30 until 55 years, and for this requirement is used for the current positions advertisement. This aims to attract the potential leaders among youth to apply for the Village Chief position.
