Dialogue between Attorney General’s Chambers and Prosecutors

The role of a prosecutor is not easy as it is often filled with various challenges in terms of handling and presenting evidences as well as witnesses, changes in laws, personal safety, and interaction with the court. This was stressed by the Attorney General during the Opening of a Dialogue between the Attorney General's Chambers and prosecutors from law enforcement agencies and statutory bodies yesterday morning.

Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Paduka Hajah Hayati binti Pehin Orang Kaya Shahbandar Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohamad Salleh said when a person submits a case to a prosecutor, the prosecutor shoulders a heavy responsibility to uphold the position's integrity, and is hoped to provide high quality legal services on behalf of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and the Government. The dialogue is hoped to provide an opportunity for them to understand one another, as well as exchange views and experience. They will also discuss issues frequently faced by prosecutors at court, and ways to overcome such issues.

The one-day dialogue aimed to further strengthen cooperation between the Criminal Justice Division specifically, and the Attorney Generals Chambers in general, with prosecutors from law enforcement agencies and statutory bodies towards enhancing the quality and efficacy of prosecutions.
