Dialogue Session with APEC Leaders

The APEC Business Advisory Council, ABAC recently held a meeting in Bangkok, Thailand. The meeting aimed to conclude a comprehensive year-long work program that drew inputs from business and academia from across APEC.

 

Meanwhile, at the ABAC dialogue session, the council delivered a strong message to APEC leaders, among others emphasizing the imperative for collective leadership and decisive action to accelerate economic recovery and secure long-term prospects for growth. According to the council, this as the world continues to grapple with a range of urgent and interrelated challenges including the continuing pandemic, geopolitical conflict, rising inflation, food and energy insecurity, the existential threat of climate change and ongoing supply chain disruptions. At the meeting, it was also announced that Dayang Nik Hafimi Abdul Haadii will be the Chair for Inclusion Task Force in 2023, with initial areas of focus on women’s economic empowerment including bridging generations through economic engagement.
