Brunei Darussalam Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists (BAMLS) and the Pengiran Anak Puteri Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah Institute of Health Sciences, Universiti Brunei Darussalam last night held a dinner reception for the participants of 3rd National Scientific Symposium.
The reception was attended by Awang Haji Abdul Manap bin Othman, the Permanet Secretary at the Ministry of Health. Also in attendance were the ministry's Deputy Permanent Secretaries. In a speech on Cancer and the Community, Professor Sir David Lane, the Head Scientist of Agency for Science, Technology and Research highlighted the research on the interaction of proteins and developing medicines to prevent the said interaction using the P53 as the model system.
Among other things, the symposium's objective was to increase knowledge on scientific and technological developments in medical laboratory and sharing the latest ideas and information with experts on the development of medical laboratory diagnostic service.
