Dinner Reception of RB’s Inaugural Flight to Tokyo, Japan

There is a vast untapped market to explore in making Brunei Darussalam as a tourism destination. According to the Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy, as the national flag carrier, the connectivity that Royal Brunei, RB, provides is paramount in developing the nation's Tourism Sector. Therefore, RB's decision to launch the route to Narita, Tokyo bears testimony to the nation's long-standing relationship with Japan.

Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah explained that the route is an opportunity to further expand RB's overall network, focusing on regional development, in particular North Asia, as the market is expected to contribute significantly to the capacity of RB's new fleet. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew, who is also the Chairman of the RB Board of Directors stated the matter at the Dinner Reception of RB's Inaugural Flight to Tokyo, Japan, last night.

Meanwhile, His Excellency Motohiko Kato, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the country in his speech among other matters said that with the commencement of direct flights between Bandar Seri Begawan and Tokyo marks a new era for the two countries as these developments offer an opportunity to further strengthen bilateral relations between Brunei Darussalam and Japan.

With the launch of RB's flight to Narita, Tokyo, it will help to support the nation's ongoing effort to diversify and build a dynamic economy. Also present were Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Abdul Mutalib bin Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yusof, Minister of Transport and Info-Communications; Doctor Awang Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin, Deputy Minister of Finance, Ministry of Finance and Economy who is also the Director of RB AND Karam Chand, RB Chief Executive Officer.
