Discusses Innovative Practice, Improves Quality of Education in the Country

With the theme ‘Empowering Educational Excellence through Innovation’, the Teacher’s Day Conference was preluded by a keynote address titled ‘Innovative Teaching to Change the landscape of Education: They Shape Curriculum, Pedagogy and Assessment.’   The speech was delivered by Andria Zafirakou from the United Kingdom, the winner of the Varkey Foundation Global Teacher Award 2018.

 

Among other things, Andria Zafirakou shared was her experience as a teacher who changed students’ lives and environment to support teaching and learning by applying new methods according to the students’ needs.

 

2 international panellists from Singapore and the Philippines participated in the forum alongside 3 local teachers.  The forum discussed the various innovations that focus on curriculum, pedagogy and assessment used by all levels of teachers and disciplines in the country in teaching and learning during the pandemic.

 

36 working papers were presented and 15 e-posters exhibited on the Teachers’ Conference official website: www.tdc.bdta.tech. The main objective of this year’s conference is to provide a platform for teachers to share and discuss innovative practices to enhance students’ performance and quality of national education inline with this year’s Teachers’ Day theme, ‘Quality Education Is The Core of Students’ Excellence.’
