Discussion Session

Discussion sessions are hoped act as a platform in sharing ideas and suggestions so that the aspirations of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam can be cultivated in ensuring that the well-being of the people is given due attention. This was among the matters explained by the Minister of Health during the Discussion Session with Mukim Penghulus and Village Chiefs for Brunei Muara District this afternoon. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doktor Awang Haji Zulkarnain bin Haji Hanafi also stressed the importance of strengthening close cooperation from all levels of the community in raising public awareness on the importance of maintaining health and added that health is the responsibility of all.

Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia said the whole of nation approach as frequently reminded in all the titah made by His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam is important for us to together ensure that all levels of the community receive the services provided by the government easily and comfortably. The Ministry of Health is also determined to continuously enhance efforts in fulfilling the ministry's vision of Together Towards Healthy Citizens which is in line with one of the ministry's main strategies that is to make health the responsibility of all by further strengthening involvement with all levels of the community.

The discussion session aimed to share the progress of the healthcare service and system initiatives implemented by the Ministry of Health two years ago. Apart from that, the session also heard the issues and challenges faced by the citizens and residents of Brunei Darussalam towards improving the quality of health care services for the well-being of the country's people. Also present were Awang Haji Zakaria bin Haji Serudin, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Health; Doctor Awang Hazri bin Haji Kifle, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Policy at the Ministry of Health and Awang Misle bin Haji Abdul Karim, Brunei Muara District Officer.
