Discussion with Penghulu and Village Heads

Since the implementation of the Unified Smart Meter System, USMS, in October last year, over 4,000 smart meter units have been installed in the houses in the country. To further disseminate about the system, Penghulu and Village Heads in Tutong District were given a briefing on the implementation of the USMS Project during the discussion or muzakarah held at the Tutong District Civic Centre Complex.

Among those present were Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Mohamad Danial @ Tekpin bin Ya’akub and Yang Berhormat Awang Abdul Aziz bin Haji Hamdan, Members of the Legislative Council. The discussion shared the government’s efforts in utilizing technology in line with current changes, namely through the replacement of existing conventional water and electricity meters to smart meters. The Senior Manager of DST Network Sendirian Berhad explained that through the technology, consumers not only benefit from the initiative but the smart meter empowers usage with real-time information transparency, allowing them to better manage utility usage and financial commitments. Dayang Rosniah binti Haji Karia added with the USMS, it will be easier for customers to add credit value through the website, www usms.com.bn or the USMS mobile application and customers will also be able to control their respective utility usage and save expenses.
