The Manpower Planning and Employment Council, MPEC Secretariat, Prime Minister’s Office, has been alerted by the public with regards to texts from foreign registered phone numbers claiming to be representatives from JobCentre Brunei.
The representative offered employment opportunities and requested personal information to be shared via the Whatsapp application.
The MPEC Secretariat informed that they have never issued texts through foreign registered phone numbers. Therefore, the public is advised not to respond to such text messages and not to share personal information including bank account details to any unknown parties. The public are also advised to block unknown numbers and be aware of any suspicious links sent.
