The Civil Aviation Department, Ministry of Communications, this afternoon held a Doa Kesyukuran in conjunction with the International Civil Aviation Day, which is celebrated every 7th of December. The ceremony took place at the Brunei International Airport Surau in Berakas.
Present was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Mustappa bin Haji Sirat, Minister of Communications. The ceremony commenced with the reading of Surah Yasin followed by Ratib Al-Attas and Doa Kesyukuran in together seeking for security and well-being of the air services and passengers from Allah the Almighty. This year's theme for the International Civil Aviation Day is "Working Together to Ensure No Country is Left Behind" which highlighted on the initiative of the International Civil Aviation Organisation, ICAO in the efforts to facilitate the country members who implemented the Standard and Recommended Practices (SARPs) which aims to ensure the safety of civil aviation. Also present were Haji Azhar bin Haji Ahmad, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Communications and Doctor Haji Supry bin Haji Awang Ladi, Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Communications.
