The doa kesyukuran ceremony for the excellent achievement of former recipients of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's government scholarships through the Ministry of Religious Affairs is hoped to become a source of inspiration towards quality education services that are filled with dedication, creativity and innovative. According to the statistics of the Ministry of Religious Affairs scholarship award for 2009/2010 until 2018, 567 students have furthered their studies at higher education institutions either locally or overseas. From the number, 403 were undertaking studies in the religious field and 164 are studying under various fields. The function took place, 30th January night, at The Horizons Seafood restaurant in the capital.
Present was Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs. The function among other matters aimed to express thanks and gratefulness for the students' success as well as act as a boost for other students to be more proactive in any field ventured. Also present was Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs. A number of former scholarship recipients talked about their experiences in achieving success in their studies and starting their careers.
