Entrepreneurs and consumers in the country gave a very positive and encouraging response to online business facilities or e-commerce provided by various parties either ministries, departments or non-government organisations. To date, there are almost 200 registered vendors in a number of e-commerce platforms while more has shown interest in joining it. The Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy disclosed the number during the question and answer session with the media. According to Yang Berhormat, e-commerce also enables companies to employ more workers.
Yang Berhormat said, currently there are some 14 platforms, and other than food and drinks, also includes retail, fashion and others. In addition to the registered vendors, there is also a community launched by BIBD for Ramadhan, of which has 120 vendors. In addition to that, 200 more vendors are in the waitlist to join the community for Ramadhan platform which is only for food and drinks. There are about 500 types of products sold on the platform.
