Bandar seri begawan: Active weather conditions since the beginning of this month have caused floods, several incidents of fallen trees, and landslides. So far, the Fire and Rescue Department has received more than twenty emergency calls regarding it.
According to Radio Television Brunei, Brunei Muara District recorded the most calls involving landslides, including 11 incidents of fallen trees, 5 calls requesting assistance to drain water, and one landslide incident. Meanwhile, Belait District recorded 4 incidents of fallen trees, and two more incidents of fallen trees were reported in Tutong District.
Following this, the Fire and Rescue Department carried out operations to remove fallen trees blocking roads and to monitor areas at risk of flooding and landslides. The operations aim to ensure public safety.
Active weather conditions are still forecast to occur in the country until Tuesday. The Fire and Rescue Department reminds the public to remain vigilant and take safety measures, including ensuring that drains and drainage in residential areas are in good condition, avoiding flooded areas, driving vehicles according to the speed limit during heavy rains, and not staying near large trees or parking cars near trees during heavy rains and strong winds.
