The session then approved the allocation for the Ministry of Finance and Economy. Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, Minister of Home Affairs in his opening remark for the ministry’s allocation underlined on the country’s challenges in facing climate change and the need to enhance preparedness at all times.

Yang Berhormat Pehin stated the National Disaster Management Centre, NDMC has reviewed and updated the Disaster Management Strategic Policy Framework, DMSPF draft and the Brunei Darussalam National Climate Change Policy. Priority programmes in the policy are designed to promote economic and environmental safety, resilience, and prosperity through the Whole of Nation approach in safeguarding community well-being through 7 priority programmes that have objectives that are inline with the Wawasan Negara 2035 target.
