Prior to adjourning the morning session, Members of the Legislative Council approved the Ministry of Home Affair’s budget allocation. In the afternoon session, the meeting heard the presentation of the proposed budget allocation for the Ministry of Education by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sulaiman, Minister of Education. For the Financial Year 2022/2023, the Ministry of Education will implement three Strategic Objectives. Among them is the Second Strategic Objective which is providing equal access to quality education.
Firstly, the strategy aims to continue and improve the quality of asset maintenance at educational institutions, namely primary and secondary schools, colleges, Sixth Form Centres as well as Institutions of Higher Learning by upgrading buildings, and implementing comprehensive maintenance through project facility management. Secondly, the maintenance of Schools and Departments computer systems, taking into consideration the spread of the COVID-19 Pandemic and the Ministry of Education’s initiative in implementing blended learning and improving the competence of human resources towards ‘work and future ready’ objective.
