Youth involvement in mosque activities provides opportunity for them to strengthen relations among mosque congregants as well as interact with village residents. To produce pious and proactive youths, the Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque has formed a Mosque Youth Group. The launch was held yesterday morning at the Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Mosque in the capital.
The establishment of the Youth Group was officiated by Awang Haji Amir Hisham bin Haji Masri, Acting Director of Mosque Affairs. The function ran concurrently with the presentation of certificates to the members. With the establishment of the Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque Youth Group, the group is now known as the Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque Syababus Salam Youth Group. Its establishment aimed to glorify the mosque and encourage youths residing in the Bandar Seri Begawan area and surroundings to fill their time with beneficial activities. According to Awang Haji Yusli bin Haji Ashli, Head of the Imarah Section Youth Unit, Mosque Affairs Department, the function of the mosque youths is to encourage mosque youths to love the mosque and provide opportunity to work together with mosque officers, committee members and mosque muslimahs.
