EU-Brunei Cooperation Webinar Highlights Opportunities in Higher Education and Research

Bandar seri begawan: The Ministry of Education, in partnership with the Delegation of the European Union, held the second edition of the EU-Brunei Cooperation in Higher Education and Research webinar on August 27. The event focused on three significant EU-funded programs: ‘Erasmus Mundus,’ ‘Horizon Europe,’ and ‘Erasmus Plus International Credit Mobility,’ which offer learning opportunities, scholarships, and collaboration in Europe to students and researchers.

According to Radio Television Brunei, Doctor Haji Azman bin Ahmad, Permanent Secretary for Higher Education at the Ministry of Education, emphasized the importance of global academic collaboration during his welcoming remarks. He noted the EU’s role as a key partner in academic mobility, joint research, and curriculum innovation. The webinar featured sharing sessions from former scholarship recipients, as well as speeches from EU representatives and local education leaders, all of whom highlighted the significance of global academic cooperation.

The primary aim of the webinar was to strengthen ties between universities in Brunei and Europe, fostering academic exchanges and joint research projects. The initiative is expected to encourage stronger academic connections and collaborative efforts in research and curriculum development between the regions.
