A number of incidences of fallen trees were reported around Brunei Muara District following the heavy rains yesterday afternoon.
The crew from RTB took a closer look at the incident sites. The Fire and rescue Department took immediate action in clearing the fallen trees which were blocking a number of roads. According to the Fire and Rescue Department, they received a number of emergency calls from Brunei Muara District including from the Jerudong and Berakas areas.
Yesterday, the Fire and Rescue Department received 25 calls pertaining to fallen trees in the Brunei Muara District. 7 calls in the Tutong District, and 3 calls in Belait. Meanwhile no fallen trees were reported in the Temburong District. According to the Meteorological Department, the country is entering the southwest monsoon season and the current weather condition is influenced by Typhoon Maria that made landfall in East China and also low pressure system in the northern parts of South China Sea. The public is urged to raise their awareness and safety during heavy rains to avoid unwanted incidences.
