The Farmers, Livestock Breeders and Fishermen’s Day is celebrated every 1st of November in giving recognition and appreciation to the people who help spur the country’s economy in the farming, poultry and fishing sectors. Various activities are lined up in conjunction with the celebration, including online talk or seminar. This year’s celebration carries the theme ‘Hasil Segar Peladang, Petani, Penternak dan Nelayan Kitani’. The theme recognises the progressive success or achievement of agricultural, fisheries, livestock and agrifood entrepreneurs.
Dayang Siti Amaniah Binti Haji Awang Besar, Senior Agricultural Officer, Department of Agriculture and Agrifood explained that 18 panel members will deliver the seminar based on the theme, comprising academician, agricultural entrepreneurs as well as officers from government and private agencies with diverse background and profession. It will be held in series every Saturday, throughout November except on the last day, Tuesday, 30th of November. Participation is free.
