More than seven thousand people participated in the field performance carrying the theme "Menjayakan Wawasan Negara". The country's Wawasan or Vision is the core of His Majesty's personal aspiration to ensure that by the year 2035, Brunei Darussalam will have the young leaders and human resources it needs to weather the challenges and the effects of global crises and conflicts in a position of strength. That strength is to be gained from high education and advanced skills. His Majesty's aspiration or the Wawasan is to preprae the country's people, especially the youth for the unknown future, so that with their education and skills, by the Grace of Allah, they would be able to beat all odds and safeguard the country's prosperity and security.
The strong and close relation between the Monarch and the people was depicted in the glorious performance. This is in line with the Titah of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in conjunction with the Golden Jubilee of His Majesty's Accession to the Throne on the 5th of October last year which emphasised let nothing hinder His Majesty's relation with the people.
Youths were the majority of performers yesterday. As the Leader and Mentor, His Majesty has tasked the government to provide the country's young with the knowledge and training to equip them for the increasingly challenging and competitive world.
A year has passed since the 33rd National Day and the world is still plagued by political and economic crises and problems. Rapport and close relations between the Government and the people are essential for the country's future progress and development. This morning's colourful displays highlighted the role of each citizen, resident, government and private agencies as they unite towards accomplishing the Wawasan Negara.
The message of the performance was the people should and will move in unity and with a deep since of responsibility so that the prosperity and security of Brunei Darussalam will continue to be enjoyed by future generations.
The diligence and high spirit of the performers enlivened the Grand Assembly. His Majesty mingling cordially and casually with the people at the end of the performance was His Majesty's highest appreciation to them. Apart from thanking all the participants, workers and committees who made the National Day celebration a great success, His Majesty in the Titah in conjunction with the auspicious day also thanked all the people, including all levels of the Civil Service working in the country and in friendly nations, the security forces and those working in the private sector with a prayer, May all the people and the country always be blessed and under the protection of Allah the Almighty.
