24 participants will compete in the Final of the National Al-Quran Memorizing Competition and its Understanding for 1438 Hijrah. Yesterday, 9 participants presented their readings. The two day competition was held at the International Convention Centre in Berakas.
Present was Awang Roslan bin Haji Taja'ah, the Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs. 2 categories were being competed in the competition namely: Category "D" on memorisation 15 Juz of Al-Quran and interpreting Juz 11, while Category "E" is for memorisation of 30 juz of Al-Quran and interpretation of Juz 22.
Meanwhile, 10 participants presented their reading in two categories in the afternoon. Category "B" on memorising selected verses of Surah Luqman, Surah As-Sajdah, Surah Yasin, Surah Ar-Rahman, Surah Al-Waqi'ah, Surah Al-Mulk and Surah Al-Insan as well as the interpretation of Surah Al-Jumu'ah, Surah Al-Munafiqun and Surah At-Talaq. While Category "C" were on memorising 3 Juz of Al-Quran and the interpretation of Juz 1. Present was Retired Captain Haji Mohammad Amirul Shahnoel bin Haji Mohammad Noeh, the Deputy Permanent Secretary of Technology, at the Ministry of Defence. The competition will resume tomorrow with Category "A" as well as the presentation of souvenirs to participants.
