His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab- Rahaman last night watched the finals of the Brunei Darussalam National Badminton Championship. Among those joining the championship was His Royal Highness the Crown Prince's son, Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Muda 'Abdul Muntaqim.
Upon arrival at Centrepoint Hotel in Gadong, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Her Royal Highness were greeted by Yang Berhormat Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. Also in attendance was His Royal Highness' daughter, Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Anak Muneerah Madhul Bolkiah.
In the final for Under-13 Junior Doubles Category, Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Muda 'Abdul Muntaqim and his team mate, Dessen Chung Min Tin played against Md Izzuddin Ermadena and Md Haziq Roze. Md Izzuddin Ermadena and Md Haziq Roze won the final round with straight sets 21-13, 21-11.
At this year's tournament, Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Muda 'Abdul Muntaqim jointly took third place for the men's Junior Singles Category and placed second in the men's junior doubles category. Prizes were handed over by the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports.
His Royal Highness the Crown Prince also received a pasambah from the organiser, presented by Ricky Ahmad Subagja, Former World Men's Doubles Player and 1996 Olympic Champion. The championship was organised by Imperial Sports with the support of the Brunei National Badminton Association.
