Financial Assistance via Drive-Thru

The government continues to show concern and assists the people and residents who fell victim to disasters in the country. Yesterday, 104 heads of families affected by floods in Tutong District, Belait District and Temburong District and a victim of a fire in Tutong District which occurred last September and recently, received financial assistance from the government via drive-thru.

In Tutong District, the handover ceremony was held at the Serambangun Community Hall in Kampung Sengkarai. The aid was presented by Dayang Saidah binti Haji Wahid, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Community at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, to 83 heads of families affected by floods and a family who fell victim to a fire.

For Belait District, the handover ceremony was held at the Main Hall of Sungai Liang Recreation Club. 17 heads of families affected by the floods received donations presented by Dayang Hajah Noridah binti Haji Abd Hamid, Acting Director of Social Services, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.

Meanwhile in Temburong District, the assistance was presented by Mirany Floridzah binti Abdul Rahman, Acting Deputy Director of the Department of Community Development, JAPEM to 4 heads of families affected by the floods. The handing over ceremony was held at the parking area of the Temburong District Office building. The financial assistance was contributed through allocations from JAPEM, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
