Precautionary measures especially in the public protection safety aspect need to be taken into account, in any programmes or preparations for the celebratory events in conjunction with His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s birthday anniversary celebration this year. The Minister of Home Affairs stressed the matter while chairing the First Meeting of the National Committee for His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di- Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 76th birthday celebration events.
Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, said in making preparations for the celebratory programmes’ arrangement, it is vital to give serious attention towards the aspects of health and the public. With COVID-19 status last year, the country has been able to implement some of the main events of the Festive Celebration. Such events can be implemented despite facing some challenges.
Yang Berhormat Pehin said as the same challenges will be faced this year, it is vital for the relevant Working Committees to strive to overcome these matters through discussions and mutual agreements with all relevant agencies. United support and teamwork spirit as shown in the past by all parties involved need to be maintained to ensure the smooth running of celebratory events as in previous years.
The meeting was attended by Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Indera Setia Diraja Sahibul Karib Pengiran Anak Haji Idris bin Pengiran Maharaja Lela Pengiran Muda Abdul Kahar, Yang Di-Pertua of Adat Istiadat Negara. The meeting took place at the Prime Minister’s Office Building, Bandar Seri Begawan.
