The Islamic Religious Council has decided to build five mosques which are currently being prepared in phases with collaboration between the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the Ministry of Development. Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Othman, the Minister of Religious Affairs explained this in the motion of vote of thanks.
Yang Berhormat said it is clear that it can be developed, among other things, by expediting the establishment of the Tithe Department which has long received His Majesty's consent. The department will manage the wakaf or endowment affairs of the Islamic Religious Council which currently possesses hundreds hectares of land available for development and what is known as the Baitulmal which will also manage the council's accumulated assets.
