The giant-sized Brunei Darussalam national flag that was hoisted since the 1st of this month has been lowered down yesterday marking the end of the period of hoisting the national flag throughout the country.
The ceremony was held at the open area of the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex in the capital in conjunction with His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 69th Birthday Celebrations.
The lowering of the national flag was conducted by 69 personnel of Fire and Rescue Department (FRD) and the Prison Department. The national anthem was presented by the Choir group of the Language and Literature Bureau, Municipal Department and the Fire and Rescue Department (FRD).
Subsequently, the big-sized Brunei Darussalam national flag was handed over to the Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Laila Raja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof as the Chairman of the Committee for the Large National Flag-Raising Ceremony in conjunction with His Majesty’s 69th Birthday Anniversary. The lowering of the big-sized flag also marks the end of the hoisting of national flags nationwide.
