The Sultan Hassan Secondary School’s new building site will be located at Kampung Batu Apoi. The construction of the new building is in line with the Ministry of Education’s long-term planning in providing a conducive and quality educational infrastructure through the 11th National Development Plan. The $16.3 million project began on the 16th of February 2021 and is expected to be completed by the 15th of May 2022.
The foundation laying ceremony were officiated by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Ingenieur Awang Haji Suhaimi Bin Haji Gafar, Minister of Development and Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sulaiman, Minister of Education. Also in attendance were Dato Seri Paduka Architect Awang Haji Marzuke bin Haji Mohsin, Deputy Minister of Development; Datin Seri Paduka Dr. Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh, Deputy Minister of Education and Members of the Legislative Council. With a modern design concept, the building will be equipped with a number of facilities including science laboratories, special room, library, surau and sports infrastructures such as sport track and football field.
