Members of the public now have the opportunity to purchase local fruits at the Temburong District Fruit and One Village One Product Festival organised by the district's Mukim and Village Consultative Councils. The three-day festival is ongoing until this Monday.
The festival was launched by Awang Abdul Wahid Bin Haji Matassan, Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs. Various activities have been lined up for the festival such as making the longest kelupis, games and exhibitions. Also in attendance were Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Emran bin Haji Sabtu, Member of the Legislative Council and Awang Mohamad Khairul Shahrul bin Haji Duahim, Acting Temburong District Officer. In an interview, Haji Sulaiman bin Haji Nasir, the festival's chairman said the event aims to attract visitors to Temburong District and allow communities in the district to showcase their products.
The festival is an initiative of the Temburong District Office through the Mukim and Village Consultative Councils so that they can expand the community's socio-economy and enhance the community's involvement in the country.
