Generating Income through Art

Art is becoming increasingly popular amongst members of the local community, especially the youth. Aside from showcasing the creativity and character of the artist, art could also potentially be a source of livelihood. News at Ten offers some insight into one local youth who is talented in producing portrait sketches, landscape animation and mural paintings. Mohammed Daud Haji Tuah has the report.

Awang Muhammad Miqdam bin Zaini, who works as a manager and creative artist at Peliunan Park, a destination for various recreational activities in the Temburong District, first honed his artistic skills at the tender age of five. His natural interest in art had also influenced his chosen pathway as he furthered his studies. Now a holder of a Diploma in Mushaf Arts, Awang Muhammad Miqdam describes his artworks as reflections of his observation of current developments both in the country and abroad.

Visibly thankful that the local art community is starting to blossom with opportunities extended by the government as well as with support from family and friends and other members of the local artistic community, Awang Muhammad Miqdam hopes that more young talents will come forward for the betterment of the field of art in the country.
