His Majesty's Birthday celebration acts as a platform of unity between the Monarch and the people. The Get-together which welcomed the much loved and adored ruler was a golden opportunity for thousands of citizens and residents living in the Belait District who came to the event yesterday morning.
Accompanying His Majesty during the Junjung Ziarah ceremony were His Majesty's sons and brothers;

The golden opportunity to Menjunjung Ziarah or greet His Majesty was also grabbed by senior citizens and people with special needs from Pusat Ehsan, SMARTER Association, Pusat Bahagia Eric Goh and the Association of Disabled Children, KACA. Continuous attention and care towards these groups are among the top priorities of His Majesty's Government in building an inclusive community in the country and assisting in the development of people with special needs.
Associations or Non-governmental Organisations, NGOs were among the participants in the Get-together and Junjung Ziarah. The country's NGOs play a vital role in together sparking the progress of the people's economy by encouraging the members and marketing their products both at the domestic and international levels, besides looking after the well-being of the country's needy groups.
The Belait District is the main contributor to the country's economy in the oil and gas sector. The revenue from the said natural resources have helped tremendously in improving the people's quality of life. Besides that, the sector also provides many job opportunities to the people.
Personnel of the 3rd Battalion of the Royal Brunei Land Force in Lumut and the Gurkha Reserve Unit in Seria also attended the Junjung Ziarah with His Majesty. The security forces play an important role in protecting the country's peace, prosperity, security and sovereignty.
The participation and involvement of all sectors of society in the district in greeting His Majesty were the manifestation of the people's love towards their caring Monarch. The people's happiness was very evident as they wished a very happy birthday to His Majesty.
The Get-together and Junjung Ziarah ceremony ended with a luncheon at the Banquet Hall near the official residence of the Belait District Officer. His Majesty's Birthday celebration is the manifestation of the very strong and close as well as cherished bond between the Monarch and the people of the country.
The Doa Selamat was read by Awang Haji Kaharuddin bin Haji Ali, the Belait District Lower Shari'ah Court Judge.
Before departing from the ceremony, His Majesty received the Junjung Ziarah from members of His Majesty's 72nd Birthday Celebration Executive Committee in the Belait District. The rakyat or citizens as well as residents of Brunei Darussalam should transform His Majesty's Birthday celebration into an avenue to channel their loyalty, determination and commitment to carry out all duties and responsibilities in maintaining and protecting the country's peace and security as well as in developing and diversifying the economy. His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam often says generating the country's economy should not focus solely on the oil and gas sector. The Monarch says it can be accomplished because this blessed country has many still unexplored areas that can produce very substantial returns. The Monarch also stresses all agencies play a role in generating the country's economy and that His Majesty also wishes to see the country have a nature friendly environment.
